Paralegal/Legal Assistant - Landlord & Tenant

My client is currently looking for a for a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join their landlord, tenant and debt team in Poole, Dorset.

The successful candidate should have strong communication skills and have good organisational and time management skills. You must also be able to manage your workload with minimum supervision and be able to work well under pressure.

If successful, you will be joining an outstanding team within an award winning firm, who provide support to all team members. The firm offer flexible working, a competitive salary along with clear progression opportunities.

Your main focus will be to support the landlord and tenant and debt team with legal administrative tasks. You are required to provide a high quality service to clients in accordance with the standards the firm requires.

You will also develop your knowledge in the field of landlord and tenant with the support of the team.

You will be required to demonstrate consistency within your role.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting fee earners with their caseloads of landlord and tenant and debt files and providing support to clients prioritising work as necessary
  • Assisting drafting, notices, standard documents, court papers and hearing preparation
  • Liaising with clients/referrers, tenants, agents and any other as necessary
  • Comply with any pre-approved Service Level Agreements in place with clients/referrers
  • Take responsibility for your own learning and ensure you regularly read any relevant books/articles.
  • Review your billing target and work towards the target each month
  • Review accounts on files and frequently ensure disbursements are billed/any outstanding invoices are chased
  • Establish good working relationships with potential clients and nurture the relationships with existing clients.

Required Skills

  • Experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in a similar role
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Good attitude, thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organisation skills with high volume cases
  • Good communication skills
  • A true team ethos
