Business Data Analyst
Permanent, Full time
To support the MSC Transport results, systems and processes and provide detailed reporting to MSC Geneva and UK Management.
To investigate Financial and operational results providing reports and suggestions to the business. Implement and support adoption of new system solutions, facilitating constant improvement within the department and the wider business.
Skills and experience you'll bring to us
- Excellent numeracy, literacy skills; strong Microsoft excel skills
- Ability to adapt to inhouse computer systems as well as a good working knowledge of remaining programs within Office 365
- Proven ability to plan and prioritise work, meet strict deadlines and be flexible in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Ability to address and resolve day to day business issues with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally
- A continued positive attitude to new business challenges
- Desire to improve upon current procedures
- Ability to always demonstrate professionalism
- Previous shipping or transport experience preferred
How you will help us and what you can expect
- Reporting and analysis of MSC UK Haulage activity for MSC UK management and MSC Geneva Intermodal, both on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis
- Regular "what If" analysis to assist business decisions
- Production of annual haulage budget together with supporting commentaries
- Developing a full working knowledge of MSC Operations processes and systems
- Investigation and implementation of system solutions to assist in improving internal operating processes, and creation of associated functional documentation and user guides
- Supporting IT in the testing, implementation and adoption of new IT systems in the department where required
- Periodic review of current procedures to identify opportunities for increased efficiency
