Solar Energy Portfolio Analyst

Role and responsibilities

This role will report to the persons in charge of the Rooftop and Ground Mount Solar Portfolios. The successful candidate will drive portfolio performance analysis and optimisation on the ground mount and rooftop portfolios in cooperation with the wider Solar team with support from the Data team and by working closely with contractors.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring of asset performance and KPI variance analysis for proactive identification of issues affecting performance.
  • Project management of technical solutions aimed at maximizing long term performance.
  • Direct management of contractors against commercial and technical contractual requirements.
  • Review of contractor maintenance reports and activities against contract and best practices and ensure completion of any corrective works to a good standard.
  • Supporting the health & safety compliance across the solar portfolio by liaising between contractors and advisors, ensuring resolutions are being implemented in a timely manner, and ensuring H&S policies are being adhered to.
  • Performing audit site visits, where appropriate, and deliver inspection reports.
  • Onboarding new acquisitions into internal systems and asset management processes.
  • Providing support and advice to the wider team and driving team objectives.

Key skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, able to establish effective communication channels with team members and relevant stakeholders.
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree would be a huge advantage
  • Solar industry experience
  • A collaborative attitude, that actively participates and contributes to discussions.
  • Good time management and attention to detail, with the ability to execute tasks accurately and within established timelines.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other relevant software to extract relevant data to support decision-making or assist in the preparation of reports and deliverables.
  • Proactive in identifying risks or opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • A goal orientated mindset, with strong negotiation skills necessary to achieve results.
