Job Overview:
As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will manage a complex caseload and play a key role in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with neurological conditions, supporting them in regaining independence and improving their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a complex caseload of acute neurological and neurosurgical patients.
- Provide comprehensive assessments and deliver individualized rehabilitation programs for patients with neuro trauma and other neurological conditions.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and medical professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Facilitate and support patient recovery through the application of specialized occupational therapy interventions.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adapt treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers regarding rehabilitation goals and long-term management strategies.
Requirements:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Minimum 2 years of post-registration experience, with significant experience in neurological and neurosurgical rehabilitation.
- Experience managing a complex caseload, particularly in an acute setting.
- Expertise in neuro trauma rehabilitation is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working within the NHS or similar healthcare settings.
