Service Care are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in the Leicestershire region for a Finance Assistant to join their finance team. Please see below for the job description.
Core responsibilities:
- Processing and monitoring the progress of insurance claims on behalf of the organisation.
- To provide support with all aspects of the Finance team duties including, data analysis, assisting with research, data input, assisting with the production of budget monitoring reports and statistical returns, assisting with the development of the budget and end of year close-down activities.
- Developing the annual budget book.
- Undertake general office duties, including collection and opening of post, filing, photocopying, printing, and stationery requisitions, ordering of office consumables, room bookings and travel.
Additional responsibilities:
- To carry out duties efficiently and effectively.
- To always see the service through the eyes of the customer and make suggestions for improvement where appropriate.
- To constantly challenge self-performance and seek to find improvements.
- To help build pride, passion, and reputation for NWLDC.
- To undertake any other reasonable tasks appropriate to the grading of the post and as required by the Team Manager.
- To participate in the Council's appraisal scheme and to undertake any necessary training and development as identified for the job role.
- To assist in the event of a civil emergency in any way as instructed.
Technical Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a finance environment.
- 4 GCSE's including Maths and English, at Grade C or above, or equivalent qualification.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- AAT Level 2 qualification
Postholders, maybe required to attend training, courses or relevant meetings in relation to conduct their role.
