Role: Flexographic Printer - Night Shift
Salary: £16.05 per hour
Location: Halesowen
Hours: Monday - Thursday
6pm - 6am
Overview
To operate designated Printing Machines to produce High Quality Flexo Print on a range of flexible packaging substrates.
To plan and progress work according to the agreed running order in a timely and efficient manner having regard to minimising materials and working in a safe manner and working environment.
Objective is to increase the level of service to our customers whilst keeping costs in line with or better than budget.
Responsibilities
- Setting up and running either a Fischer & Krecke (8 colour), Comexi (8 colour) or CMS (6 colour) Flexographic press
- To observe safe working practices within the area of responsibility and ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained / improved.
- Train dept. personnel where required to maximise their effectiveness in carrying out their tasks
- Ensure efficient and consistent target running speeds are met together with well-planned job changes, make ready and stereo mount / removal and sleeve return.
- Identifying and promptly resolving and /or reporting any equipment malfunction, material, safety, and or quality issues.
- Manage films / inks / plate's inventory and other materials in an efficient manner minimising waste and maximising re-use where quality requirements can be met.
- Carry out Quality / Process checks in line with the requirements set out in works procedures and the quality system and record them as required on relevant documentation or computerised systems.
- To be proactive in offering ideas for continuously improving the efficiency and quality of the process.
- Communicate information with all relevant personnel
Requirements
- Must have previous experience of setting up and running a Flexographic press
- Preferably have experience of the following...
- Plate making
- Plate mounting
- Colour matching techniques
- Plate Laying
- Ink sequencing
- Ink Mixing
- Prepress
- Make ready
- Printing and finishing
- Self-motivated with an ability to work on their own
- Preferably have experience of running either a Fischer & Krecke (8 colour), Comexi (8 colour) or CMS (6 colour) Flexographic press
- Would consider someone who has run a similar flexographic printing machine
- An excellent communicator together with organizational and analytical skill
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
