** Team Leader - Residential Support ***
We're partnering with a company looking for a strong Team Leader for their Children and Young People's Service in Ribchester.
The company offers high-quality residential care and education for children and young people with mental health conditions such as Autism, Social, Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties, and complex needs associated with challenging behaviour.
Role Overview:
- Lead and support a team of residential support workers.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of relationships between children, their friends, and families.
- Encourage community integration through clubs and day centres.
- Ensure the team assists children with daily living activities.
- Safeguard vulnerable children, and report any suspicions or evidence of harm.
- Supervise housekeeping duties and ensure hygiene standards are maintained within the home.
Requirements:
- Experience in a care and support environment, preferably with leadership responsibilities.
- Previous experience caring for someone with mental health issues is advantageous.
- A Children's Residential Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential (can lead to higher pay rates).
Details:
Location: Ribchester.
Contract: Temporary to permanent.
Pay Rate: Starting from £16 - £20 per hour / £24k - £28k per annum.
Hours: Full time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and promote the welfare of children and young people under your team's care.
- Provide guidance, support, and encouragement to your team and the children.
- Actively listen in a calm and non-threatening manner, ask questions to ensure understanding, and acknowledge what is being said.
- Support the normal development of children and young people by encouraging a healthy lifestyle, engaging activities, and serving as a consistent and caring adult role model.
