A fantastic opportunity to work with the General Manager of an SME. The company is an expanding company in the industrial sector and they looking to recruit an ambitious HR individual who is keen to learn and grow, yet who has the confidence to challenge the management team. You must be a strong communicator and have a willingness to learn and embrace the positive culture that the company possesses.
You will be responsible for the delivery of strategically focussed projects as well as day to day HR management across manufacturing. You will support the Directors in delivering HR strategies, policies, and procedures including facilitating organisational change, developing people, and taking the lead on all employee relations to ensure a happy workforce.

Role responsibilities

  • Responsible for the recruitment and selection processes at local level.
  • Create and maintain personnel files to ensure HR compliance.
  • Ensure employee inductions and probationary meetings are carried out within the required timelines.
  • Monitor the clocking in and out system and ensuring that all relevant systems and reports are reflective of real time data.
  • Administer the HR inbox for daily enquiries and ensuring these are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Ensure employee health and safety compliance and all associated documentation is maintained.
  • Ensuring that the business is receiving the HR support needed to ensure all day-to-day operational issues are dealt with.
  • Assisting the Directors in the development and implementation of training programmes to support business objectives, including induction, management development, and ad hoc requirements.
  • Promoting the value of HR and driving a focus on continuous improvement both in the business and in the wider team.
  • Responsible for the performance management programme, supporting Line Managers to ensure objectives are set and regular reviews carried out.
  • Provide monthly HR reports to the Directors so that better informed decisions can be made.
  • Encourage a work environment where employees feel they can learn, grow, and feel happy.
  • Working with the Directors to agree and drive through a reward and recognition strategy, including benchmarking of salaries, developing and planning projects to deal with issues such as succession planning, talent development, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Provide training to the managers on basic HR to allow them growth and confidence to deal with their employee issues.

Person Specification

  • The ability to analyse, develop, present, and implement business initiatives to the wider workforce under the board's guidance.
  • Must have previous at least 3 years HR experience in a generalist role.
  • Commercial awareness with proven management skills.
  • Confident to challenge ideas, whilst using positive influencing skills.
  • An analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and motivate people.
  • A solution provider who is good at generating new ideas and confident at dealing with people at all levels.
  • Proven and effective administration skills
  • Ability to work under pressure when required to meet tight deadlines.

The role is a site based role and is 40 hours per week. In return you will receive a salary of between £33,000-£35,000.
