Senior Mechanical Certification Engineer - REMOTE - Business Class Seating - Aerospace - Experience within business class seating is essential!!
We are looking for a senior Certification Mechanical Engineer to work remotely on a 40 hour week 2 year rolling contract. Must have experience in dynamic Testing
You will be responsible for developing and executing certification programs to demonstrate compliance to regulatory and OEM requirements in a leading function.
You will support your colleagues and co-workers in achieving individual and department results and will be the first point of contact in all functional certification related questions for internal and external parties.
- Subject Matter Expert in product certification issues (Business Class Seating)
- Ensures compliance with regulatory, project and customer requirements and certification of products.
- Develops and elaborates solutions for complex issues in the certification process.
- Shares and establishes best practices.
- Reviews prototype designs and drawings and identifying necessary changes.
- Develops and manages tools and processes to track certification results, testing, and compliance findings to ensure timely completion of certifications.
- Technical and process contact for certifications of products, especially for project managers and engineers.
- Identifies certification problems and their adverse effects on the project.
Qualifications: Degree in engineering or similar preferred Aviation related studies
Experience: Minimum +5 years of experience in relevant field (Certification/ Airworthiness CVE within a Business Class Seating experience in working closely with EASA and FAA)
Skills:
- Exceptional organizational skills, self-motivation, a sense of urgency and sensitivity to deadlines, and detail oriented.
- Operational knowledge of all certification test equipment
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Detailed knowledge of dynamic, static, and flammability testing processes and procedures
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of FAA
- AutoCAD and/or CATIA V5 familiarity
