London (Hybrid Working) | £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Biller to join its dynamic London-based Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to take on a key role in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.
Working closely with another Legal Biller and the wider Accounts team, you will take shared ownership of client billing operations across the London office. This is a hands-on role, suited to someone who thrives on deadlines, enjoys improving processes, and can build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and process high volumes of client invoices, including using tools like Pre-bill Viewer.
- Liaise with internal teams and external clients to ensure timely and accurate billing.
- Manage e-billing portals and work closely with the e-billing team to reconcile submissions.
- Maintain accurate and organised billing records, invoice folders, and related documentation.
- Handle billing queries efficiently and professionally.
- Produce regular and ad-hoc billing reports; proactively identify ways to streamline and automate reporting.
- Provide billing support during peak periods (e.g., Collection Drives in June and December).
- Support annual audits (Statutory, SRA, Internal).
- Provide cover during team absences or annual leave.
- Assist with special billing projects and other finance-related initiatives as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in legal billing - ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of VAT, compliance requirements, and billing best practices.
- Familiarity with legal billing systems such as Aderant (or similar platforms).
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, especially under pressure or tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Able to work independently, prioritise tasks effectively, and manage competing deadlines.
- A collaborative team player with a positive, solutions-focused mindset.
- A passion for improving processes and driving efficiency.
- E-billing and collections experience is beneficial but not essential.
