Job Title: Product Quality Non-Conformance Engineer

Location: Bolton, UK

Duration: 6 months, with a likelihood of extension

Pay Rate: Up to £30 per hour (PAYE)

Job Description:

The company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Engineer to join their Non-Conformance team. The successful candidate will provide critical support to the Manufacturing teams in the UK, ensuring that non-conformance issues are effectively managed and resolved. This role involves a variety of responsibilities, including data analysis, problem-solving, and the facilitation of non-conformance meetings. The candidate will also be responsible for managing customer concerns and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide frontline management of non-conformance issues, supporting Manufacturing functions with the administration and containment of non-conformities.
  • Collect and analyse non-conformance data using the company's business tools, such as Google NLP, to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Implement and verify permanent corrective actions.
  • Compile business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for communication at all levels within the organisation.
  • Conduct data analysis, including CQN (Rework/Scrap), returns, and yields.
  • Facilitate Practical Problem Solving activities, determine root causes, and implement robust corrective actions using relevant Quality Tools.
  • Support the transfer of new products into manufacturing by analysing historical data and applying lessons learned.
  • Facilitate non-conformance meetings across various levels, from Shop Floor to Manufacturing Heads, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Manage customer concerns and escapes, coordinating with inter-company facilities in Europe (France, Italy, and Germany) and with external customers.
  • Oversee inscapes between business units within Manufacturing.
  • Interface with the Programs Quality representative and broader Quality teams, sharing data and progressing non-conformities and improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ideally qualified to a minimum HNC/HND level in a relevant subject or with equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Excellent analytic skills, with the ability to use data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Confident in reporting to all levels of the business.
  • Strong practical problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead and facilitate improvement activities.
  • Good planning and organising abilities, with a focus on prioritising and monitoring multiple tasks to meet set objectives.
  • Highly self-motivated, with a strong determination and persistence to overcome obstacles and achieve results.
