Health and Safety Compliance Team Leader / Manager (Fixed-Term - 6 months)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Compliance Team Leader/Manager to join our team on a fixed-term basis. A recent Health and Safety audit has highlighted the need for comprehensive monitoring procedures and systems across our various sites. This role involves leading a team to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, updating procedures, and training staff on best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the team in updating Premises Management folders
  • Overseeing the implementation of recommendations from recent H&S audit
  • Supervising the completion of Risk Assessments
  • Establishing and overseeing an effective health and safety system
  • Conducting training for staff on safety procedures
  • Ensuring accurate maintenance of training records
  • Collaborating with volunteer-managed Community Centers

Qualifications:

  • H&S qualification, preferably NEBOSH certification
  • IOSH certification with relevant experience
  • Familiarity with NCC procedures
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead a team in the competent person role

Additional Information:

  • Monday to Friday schedule with flexible hours
  • Hybrid working model available
  • Mileage reimbursement for travel
  • Covering community buildings within the Newport Council area
  • Hourly rate: £18 to £20 per hour
