The Organisation

We are the Marine Conservation Society, a UK charity fighting for a cleaner, better-protected, healthier ocean: one we can all enjoy.

Right now, our ocean is at a tipping point. We're polluting our waters and destroying precious habitats. We're harming the species that live there. This is reducing the ocean's ability to help fight the climate crisis. While a third of UK seas are protected on paper, less than 1% are well managed. We are determined to change this. Using people-powered action and with science on our side, we defend habitats and species, working with communities, businesses and governments to encourage ocean-based climate action solutions across the UK.

We are now looking for a Head of Digital Experience to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 35 hours per week.

The Role

As our Head of Digital Experience, you will develop and implement our digital strategy and lead the continuous improvement of our digital platforms.

Creating an exceptional digital experience for all our audiences, you will help us grow awareness, engagement and income generation.

You will expand our reach and impact, leading the continuous improvement of our digital products and disciplines. This includes our website, CRM, analytics, email marketing, SEO, SEM, campaign landing pages, marketing automation, acquisition and retention growth.

Additionally, you will:

- Work closely with our teams to align their digital initiatives to our strategic objectives
- Provide leadership and digital expertise
- Manage the digital experience budget and external suppliers (circa £150k)

About You

To be considered as our Head of Digital Experience, you will need:

- Substantial track record of leading, managing and developing digital team
- Experience delivering complex digital transformation projects
- Excellent working knowledge of CMS, CRM/Marketing Automation, Google Ads, Email Marketing, Google Analytics, in-app analysis tools, social media, SEMrush or HRefs, and Google Search console
- Experience and understanding of digital marketing at both a strategic and hands-on level
- Experience of leading growth through digital products
- Experience in the implementation and development of CRM systems
- Experience of managing external agencies and web developers
