About the Role:
Starting Point Recruitment is seeking a dynamic Sales & Estimating Manager for our client in Harlow, Essex. This role is pivotal in driving financial growth by setting strategic goals, cultivating key customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, and closing deals. You will ensure timely and competitive tender and quote submissions while maintaining profit margins.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure the timely review and submission of all tender and quote requests.
- Mentor and guide estimators for accurate cost calculations and margin adherence.
- Conduct final reviews of tenders and quotes before submission.
- Engage with clients to review submissions, explore new business opportunities, and maintain strong relationships.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to build a robust pipeline of new business.
- Identify and secure potential new clients to drive business growth.
- Perform pre-contract checks and negotiations before project acceptance, followed by a handover to the Head of Projects.
- Participate in pre-contract meetings alongside the Head of Projects and clients.
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in a fire and/or security sales role.
- Proven experience in departmental management.
- Exceptional client engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Proficiency in estimating, costing, budgeting, and financial management.
- Strong understanding of British Standards relevant to the fire and security industry.
- Competent with PC software (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent sales skills with a proven track record in sales and business development.
- Strong presentational skills, capable of conveying complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
