Our client, a prominent leader in the compliance industry, is seeking a Quality and Compliance Manager for their Legionella services. This role presents an excellent opportunity to join an experienced and dedicated team. As specialists in Legionella control, our client offers comprehensive water hygiene and Legionella management services, including risk assessments, to public sector organisations, utility companies, and a range of industrial, commercial, and retail clients. With strong growth ambitions, they are looking for talented individuals to join their knowledgeable team.

You will oversee the compliance and service delivery of the company's expanding Legionella department across the UK. This role involves close collaboration with the Field Operations Manager and the administration team to ensure the department runs smoothly and successfully. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical understanding of Legionella risk and management, with prior hands-on experience as a Legionella risk assessor or consultant. You will manage Legionella operations, lead risk assessors and engineering teams, and maintain the company's LCA accreditation through regular audits.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead manager for all Legionella services across the UK, managing and supporting the wider Legionella field service teams.
  • Ensure statutory compliance and health and safety standards are met in accordance with industry-recognised benchmarks, developing and maintaining systems as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Field Operations Manager on various management aspects to improve daily operations and contribute to the growth of the Legionella department.
  • Support the sales team with quotes and tender processes.
  • Assist in the digital development of surveying services.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Audit at least two Legionella risk assessment reports per surveyor each month to ensure the upholding of company and industry standards.
  • Conduct quarterly audits for each surveyor.
  • Communicate, process, and investigate microbiological positives within 24 hours.
  • Ensure 100% of scheduled jobs per week are completed according to the scope of work without incurring additional costs.

Job Specific Functions

  • Represent the company and maintain a professional image in the marketplace.
  • Stay informed about current water hygiene legislation and update the company on relevant changes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to all within the company.
  • Line manage the field-based Legionella delivery team, acting as their main point of contact and support.
  • Ensure the field teams meet KPIs, adhere to industry standards, and operate proactively and productively.
  • Travel across the UK as required to support field staff and operational needs.
  • Manage larger Legionella projects, ensuring they are delivered according to the agreed scope of work and within budget.
  • Maintain staff morale, motivation, and discipline at the highest standards.
  • Report back on sales opportunities following client or site visits, ensuring this information is communicated to the relevant personnel for follow-up.
  • Identify and manage the onboarding and auditing of subcontractors.
  • Personally deliver Legionella services as required, focusing on L8 risk assessments, written schemes, and L8 training.
  • Regularly audit post-service reports, field staff, and subcontractors.
  • Support the recruitment of external field staff.
  • Train and develop both the internal administration and external field teams.
  • Analyse field productivity and assist in planning improvements.
  • Participate in strategic projects to meet the company's targets.
  • Communicate and implement business strategies across external teams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Provide regular mentoring and relationship development with surveyors.
  • Conduct annual appraisals, reviews, return-to-work interviews, and disciplinary processes for the field teams.
  • Assist the sales team with quotes related to tender processes as needed.
  • Produce method statements and risk assessments for all Legionella-related services.
  • Organise and ensure the proper functionality and calibration of all necessary equipment.
  • Alongside the Warehouse Supervisor, ensure all general and specialised equipment is maintained in good working order.
  • Support the Warehouse Supervisor in keeping COSHH data up to date.
  • Liaise with client or site personnel regarding work progress or issues, ensuring clients remain compliant.
  • Report any on-site progress issues or problems to the office immediately.
  • Develop digital compliance systems to maximise productivity and efficiency from site delivery to post-service report production.
  • Manage and maintain the asset management of the digital compliance system in line with L8 requirements.
  • Prepare for and manage industry-leading audit requirements.
  • Ensure team adherence to company procedures.
  • Act in accordance with the Company Code of Conduct when carrying out company duties in any capacity or location.
