Your new role
Your responsibilities as an IT support engineer include (but are not limited to):
- Utilise your technical expertise to diagnose issues with a variety of computer hardware, such as desktops, laptops, and printers, as well as software problems reported to the support desk.
- Collecting necessary information to confirm these issues, enabling effective resolution and system functionality restoration.
- Ensuring all computers and servers are current with the latest security updates and performing routine system administration tasks. They will also verify compliance with software licencing.
- Providing critical support for essential technology in high-pressure environments, including control rooms and live operations, where timing is crucial.
- Handling the setup and installation of new computer systems, including both hardware and software.
- Contributing to the planning and enhancement of technological systems and support processes.
- Performing daily maintenance, system management, data processing, liaising with technology suppliers, and disposing of outdated equipment as instructed.
What you'll need to succeed
- Be eligible to undergo security clearing/vetting
- Prior experience with hardware and software support
- Knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack - servers, operating systems, O365 suite, Active directory etc.
- Ability to work on-site 4-5 days a week in their Bedford office
What you'll get in return
- 6-Month Contract
- £180 per day rate (inside IR35)
