£35,000 - £40,000 plus 10% Bonus and fully expensed company car (fuel card)

Based in the Newcastle / North East region - can also be based in Southern Scotland and cover this region from there

Job Purpose:

Are you passionate about horticulture and sales? Our client is seeking a dynamic Technical Area Sales Manager to drive profitable growth by selling their comprehensive range of professional media, bark, and fertilisers. You'll be at the forefront, supporting commercial growers and distributors, ensuring they receive top-notch technical support and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Growth: Maximise sales opportunities, negotiate profitable deals, and improve margins.
  • Customer Support: Partner with commercial nurseries and distributors to foster growth and margin opportunities.
  • Technical Solutions: Develop and resolve technical issues through collaboration with Sinclair's technical teams.
  • Customer Development: Identify and develop new customer relationships in your region.
  • Strategy Implementation: Support and execute growth strategies, expanding large grower and distributor networks.
  • Reporting: Produce monthly reports, identify profitability opportunities, and communicate regional performance.
  • Market Intelligence: Report back on market trends and insights.
  • Customer Service: Ensure exceptional service by maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Pricing Strategy: Maintain and improve annual pricing architecture and cost price increase plans.

What We're Looking For:

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of successful business experience, ideally with professional growers.
  • Demonstrable commercial experience in the horticulture, agriculture, or amenity industry.
  • Proven track record in business partnering and sales.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Diploma in Horticulture, Soil/Plant Science, Turf, or Agriculture.
  • Understanding of the Professional Growers market.
  • Basis and Facts qualified (or willingness to achieve this).
  • Current driving licence and willingness to travel.

Skills:

  • Strong financial acumen with budgeting and forecasting skills.
  • Direct account management experience with large professional growers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive the professional business forward.
