Our client, a world leader in developing and manufacturing environmental technology solutions for the semiconductor industry, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This permanent position is within a company known for advancing abatement systems, enabling clients to reduce greenhouse gases and improve manufacturing processes for semiconductors, flat panel displays, LEDs, and solar panels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document, implement, and continuously improve the manufacturing cell's Lean manufacturing processes according to the guidelines of the Vacuum Technique Production System
- Define, set up, and optimise the processes within the allocated manufacturing cell(s)
- Implement continuous improvement activities and projects
- Design or optimise, prove, implement, and maintain cell layouts
- Implement and maintain risk assessments for allocated manufacturing cell(s), including authoring of safe systems of work
- Specify and purchase appropriate tooling and equipment for the manufacturing cell(s)
- Ensure configuration control of operational documentation in compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 regulations
- Resolve or support any non-conformity impacting the manufacturing process
- Eliminate routing and material variances within the manufacturing cell(s)
- React to production feedback and influence design revision through the engineering change process
Job Requirements:
- Experience in a comparable role within manufacturing engineering
- Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering degree or equivalent qualification (desirable)
- Expertise in process documentation authoring, procedures, and work instructions
- Experience in optimising production processes and providing production support
- Problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis tools
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively within all organisational levels
- Development and implementation of technical solutions to meet requirements within agreed timescales
- IT literacy, including proficiency in MS Office
- Understanding of engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles (desirable)
- Basic CAD skills for layout design and model interrogation (desirable)
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems such as SAP (desirable)
- Knowledge of DFM/PFMEA (desirable)
- Experience with change management (desirable)
- Understanding of compliance requirements for health and safety, environmental, and quality regulations (desirable)
