Safer Neighbourhoods Officer

Our Coventry Neighbourhoods teams manage around 19,000 customer homes within Coventry and surrounding areas.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Safer Neighbourhoods Officers in Coventry. This is a challenging yet rewarding role, where you can make a difference to communities and customers lives.

£33,683 per year (Pay Award Pending)

Reporting to Neighbourhood Team Leader, you are required to work as part of the Neighbourhoods team to deliver a quality service to create community safety and safer neighbourhoods. This role involves:

  • Progressing individual Anti-Social Behaviour cases, taking appropriate enforcement action, working closely with appropriate staff to obtain a successful outcome.
  • Exercising tenancy conditions including legal remedies, in cases of serious and or/persistent nuisance or anti-social behaviour; developing specialist knowledge as appropriate
  • Liaising with Solicitors to obtain appropriate advice to progress Court applications and attend hearings where necessary.
  • Working closely with the Neighbourhood Services team and the Concierge team to determine the allocation and deployment of CCTV equipment, mobile telephones and other measures providing support to tenants, including support referrals where appropriate.

As Safer Neighbourhood Officer, we need you to have:

  • Basic understanding of the legal framework within which anti-social behaviour can be dealt with
  • Experience of working with customers, internally and externally and partner agencies to support the delivery of the business.
  • Ability to develop successful professional relationships with partners to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Ability to carry out interviews to discuss sensitive tenancy management issues, anti-social behaviour, neighbourhood disputes and provision of appropriate advice or guidance where necessary.
  • Excellent I.T Skills
  • Current driving licence and access to a car

  • Experience working with a Social Housing Provider or similar customer facing role.
