What you'll do:

As a Senior Buyer, your role will be integral to the success of our client's operations. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services that meet the organisation's needs. Your proactive approach will drive cost-effective solutions while contributing to strategic procurement objectives. You will also play a key role in optimising supply chain efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Your ability to develop effective relationships with suppliers, partners, and stakeholders will be crucial in this role. Additionally, you will take on various administrative duties such as maintaining computer files and providing weekly reports to the Procurement Manager.

  • Coordinate Purchase Requisitions, Raise Purchase Orders and monitor supplier delivery dates.
  • Communicate any risks/issues to the Procurement Lead and work towards resolution.
  • Expedite urgent and outstanding orders to support Production.
  • Develop effective relations with suppliers, partners and stakeholders.
  • Take responsibility for all purchasing projects as required by the Procurement Manager.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of computer files, filing of quotes and purchase order duplicates.
  • Provide weekly task report to Procurement Manager.
  • Assist Procurement Lead in developing suitable supplier relationships and reducing inventory.
  • Identify and deliver cost saving projects across direct and indirect spend.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Buyer position brings a wealth of purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment. You possess knowledge of MRP systems and have either achieved or are working towards a CIPS/Degree in a relevant subject. Experience within the Aerospace or Composites industry would be advantageous but not essential. As well as these technical skills, you are a hardworking, enthusiastic team player who is flexible and able to use your own initiative. Your ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, partners, and stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.

  • Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (1 year minimum).
  • Knowledge of MRP systems.
  • CIPS/Degree in relevant subject (level 5 or working towards).
  • Desirable: Experience of Aerospace and/or Composites industry.
  • Understanding of Composite Raw Material.
  • Hardworking, enthusiastic, flexible team player.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
