Key Account Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful FMCG business that have the highest accreditations for running an ethical and sustainable business, with a real focus on people and staff wellbeing.

Working as part of the Commercial Team, the role of Key Account Manager is to contribute to the development and success of the strategic sales plan to support the company's overall growth strategy.

The role:

  • Working to agreed targets around sales, margin and category growth
  • Supporting new product development projects with sales
  • Build a strong pipeline of prospective business and potential sales
  • Managing the day to day requirements for key customer accounts to build collaborative partnerships and increase customer value
  • Develop and deliver on customer account plans to help with strategic growth
  • Agreed terms and long-term contracts with key customers or strategic targets
  • Provide solutions to customer queries or any issues that arise
  • Contribute to forecasting and sales reporting across key accounts for management
  • P&L management
  • Provide product guidance, negotiate pricing and delivery requirements with customers
  • Category Research and analysis to help provide customers with valuable category insights
  • Assist and support new tenders and business proposals
  • Liaising with internal teams on issues relating to customer orders, production, new product development, order delivery and customer site visits

Skills & Experience Required:

  • A proven track record as an Account Manager within the FMCG sector is a must
  • Experience in sales, winning new business and growing customer income
  • Solutions based sales approach to help meet customer requirements
  • Customer focused and can build lasting long-term relationships, based on trust and delivery
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the company products and service offerings
  • Pro-active approach to making and developing more connections across the industry, to help uncover new opportunities
  • Highly organised, keep the CRM system updated and great at following the key account management process
  • Experience with preparing new customer proposals and sales tenders
  • Happy to travel to visit customers to build relationships
  • You will need to have strong values around good business ethics, sustainability and a company culture where everyone can be their true self
