Legal Cashier

We are representing a reputable law firm in Newcastle City Centre, seeking a Legal Cashier on a permanent basis.

The role is full-time office based in a central office space, and is suited to someone with existing experience in a similar position.

Training will be provided on all systems, however knowledge of Leap and/or Xero is desired

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the firm
  • Process client and office account transactions, including receipts, payments, and transfers
  • Reconcile bank statements and client ledgers
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns
  • Handle client billing and invoicing
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing processes
  • Ensure compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Legal Cashier role
  • Strong understanding of legal accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in managing client and office accounts
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of LEAP and/or Xero accounting software
