Our client is seeking an Assistant Merchandiser to join their dynamic and ever-growing team. As a key member of the team you will support their buying office; you will play a vital role in ensuring their global sales plans are achieved through effective planning, strategic analysis, stock management, and the execution of strategic activities.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist the Merchandising team in reaching seasonal sales and profit targets based on the business plan.
  • Collaborate with the Buying team to curate merchandise ranges tailored to customer profiles in different regions, providing recommendations for improvements to maximise sales and profit potential.
  • Utilise weekly departmental performance analysis to proactively trade your assigned area and optimise profits, under the guidance of the Merchandiser.
  • Forecast sales and intake on the department's WSSI (Weekly, Sales, Stock, and Intake) and ensure the continuity business aligns with the overall merchandising strategy.
  • Work closely with the retail team to ensure timely deliveries and optimal stock levels.
  • Deputise for the Merchandiser in various trading and planning meetings, both internally and externally.
  • Cultivate strong vendor relationships to leverage trading opportunities.
  • Foster clear communication within your team to ensure alignment and clarity, working collaboratively towards department goals.
  • Prepare weekly reports, delivering insightful analysis to inform the team and wider business strategy.
  • Assist in the planning process by providing analysis for range planning, ensuring alignment with top-line strategies.
  • Coordinate seasonal markdowns and monitor stock transfers and RTV agreements to meet closing stock targets.
  • Manage and develop any MAAs (Merchandising Administration Assistants) on your team.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and identify training opportunities.
  • Monitor and review the performance of your reports, including conducting and presenting their appraisals.
