Legal Compliance Manager

Up to £45,000 per annum, commensurate with experience

We are working with a long-established, Legal 500-listed, Lexcel and CQS accredited law firm who are looking to attract an experienced Legal Compliance Manager to support their Directors and Practice Manager over two offices.

The role will be tailored to the skills and strengths of the successful candidate and will cover some or all the duties listed below.

The role will involve

  • Monitoring risk and ensuring compliance across the law firm
  • Managing and reviewing Office Manual policies, plans and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with Lexcel and assisting with the annual re-accreditation process
  • Assisting the COLP in ensuring compliance with the SRA's Standards and Regulations
  • Reviewing and analysing complaints, claims, file reviews, client feedback, conflicts and breaches
  • Assisting the MLRO in ensuring compliance with the Money Laundering Regulations
  • Assisting the Complaints Officer with complaints handling
  • Assisting with Professional Indemnity Insurance and other insurance renewals
  • Assisting with data protection and health and safety compliance
  • Assisting with the annual renewal of solicitors' practising certificates and maintenance of the firm's SRA authorisation
  • Arranging/leading compliance training sessions

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Experience of working in a compliance role for an SRA-regulated law firm
  • The ability to work collaboratively with the Management Team to monitor risk and ensure compliance.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with an ability to influence at all levels and build supportive relationships
  • The ability to deal with confidential matters with discretion and tact
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge

This is a permanent job which will be predominantly office-based. Home-working will be accommodated one day per week following successful probation/training period.

Hours of work are 9am to 5.15pm Monay to Friday. Part time hours will also be considered (minimum 29 hours per week). Please state hours required on application.
