We have an opportunity for a specialist nurse to join their team of staff in the Oncology department. This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover a sabbatical.
Your new role
- Required to work closely with both medical and surgical oncologists
- Prepare and maintain clinical records of patient care, with reference to Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for records and record keeping.
- Conduct yourself professionally within the standard and framework provided by the NMC Codes of professional Conduct and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
What you'll need to succeed
- Registered Nurse Level 1 / Diploma / B.Sc. in Nursing. Or
- Registered Nurse Level 2
- Relevant competencies for the role.
- Surgical oncology experience i.e. post-operative care
- Willingness to develop or already hold:
- Breast care course / module
- Lymphodema management course
- Advanced communication skills
- Teaching experience
- Audit experience
- Excellent organisation and multitasking skills are required.
- Understanding workload and shift management.
- Patient and caring approach to customer care
