Clinical Nurse Specialist - Upper and Lower GI/Hepatobiliary

We have an opportunity for a specialist nurse to join their team of staff in the Oncology department. This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover a sabbatical.
Your new role

  • Required to work closely with both medical and surgical oncologists
  • Prepare and maintain clinical records of patient care, with reference to Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for records and record keeping.
  • Conduct yourself professionally within the standard and framework provided by the NMC Codes of professional Conduct and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

What you'll need to succeed

  • Registered Nurse Level 1 / Diploma / B.Sc. in Nursing. Or
  • Registered Nurse Level 2

- Relevant competencies for the role.

  • Surgical oncology experience i.e. post-operative care
  • Willingness to develop or already hold:
  • Breast care course / module
  • Lymphodema management course
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Teaching experience
  • Audit experience
  • Excellent organisation and multitasking skills are required.
  • Understanding workload and shift management.
  • Patient and caring approach to customer care
