Director of Account Management

Global Software House, which is a leading provider of innovative SaaS solutions, requires a Director of Account Management to lead a team of 5 Account Managers, as well as manager larger Client Accounts.

Our client is looking for a seasoned Director of Account Management with extensive experience in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) sales to lead an established account management team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving customer satisfaction, retention and growth. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to optimise the performance of your team, ensuring that clients receive unparalleled support and value from the suite of Software / SaaS products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of account managers to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Develop and implement account management strategies to drive customer retention, satisfaction, and revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, product, and support teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Analyse customer data and feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements and upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on key account management metrics, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor offerings to effectively position our solutions.
  • Handle escalations and work to resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
  • Develop training programs and materials to enhance the skills and knowledge of the account management team.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture within the team and across the organisation.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • 8+ years of experience in account management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in SaaS sales and a deep understanding of the software industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and other relevant tools.
