Our client, a leading company in the manufacturing sector, is currently seeking a Press Brake Setter / Operator to join their team on a temp to perm basis. As a key player in the production team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC press brakes to produce high-quality sheet metal components. Your expertise will ensure production targets are met efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate all CNC press brakes
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and engineering drawings
- Ensure production processes are cost-effective and report any time overruns
- Promote and maintain quality standards in collaboration with the Quality Manager
- Follow 'Standard Operating Procedures' and adhere to health and safety guidelines
- Assist in developing ideas to reduce waste and increase efficiency
- Support training requirements and mentor team members
- Provide feedback to management to enhance processes and quality control
Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC press brakes
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and drawings
- Knowledge of production processes and efficiency optimisation
- Familiarity with quality control standards and procedures
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment
Additional Skills:
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles
- Competence in using CAD software
- Knowledge of material properties and their impact on press brake operations
- Ability to analyse production data for continuous improvement
