Data Centre Engineer (Contract) - London - £200/day
We have a new requirement for a Dat Centre Engineer in Central London. Our client is a leading Data and Telecoms company based in London and have a large contact to complete, including Data Centre builds and office Rollouts.
This will be an initial 3-month contract, which is likely to be extended as there are over 50 Data Centers to build across the UK still to be built.
If you have experience building Oracle Data Centers or come from an Oracle Data background, this will be advantages

We are looking for Engineers who can start immediately and have their own vehicle to travel to site.
Key responsibilities:
- Install, test, and maintain a wide range of IT communication infrastructure and cabling within Data
- Centres and Telco exchanges located nationally
- Laying, splicing and testing of fiber optic cabling
- Laying, terminating, and testing of copper Cat6 data & Voice cabling (including Krone blocks).
- Develop project documentation and provide advice as a Technical Authority
- Lead data centre engineering projects
- Supervise staff on site to ensure projects tasks are fully delivered to the right standard
Key Skills:
- Able to work occasionally on weekends or travel nationally to remote sites.
- A demonstrable and strong working experience in a data centre or telecommunication field
- Hands-on experience with installation and testing of structured cabling i.e. splicing fibre optic, (ODF and
- Cassettes, OTDR testing), terminating copper CAT 6 , Voice multi-pair cable and Krone blocks
- Experience of installation of rack mountable equipment
- Good level of knowledge about Data Centre Operation and Management procedures
- Experience or ability of developing and documenting operational processes
- Experience with OM3 and OM4
- Working knowledge of the technical requirements and builds of DC (Direct Current) power infrastructures
