Leicester City CIN Social Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for Leicester City Council.

This is a temporary Children's Social Worker role within the Children in Need Team. In this role you will benefit from a competitive hourly rate whilst having the opportunity to work in a professional and vibrant environment. The successful candidate will work in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday - the rest of the week is hybrid.

Working within the Children in Need team includes but is not limited to:

  • Holding a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans and Children in Need under Section 17 of the Children's Act of 1989
  • Undertaking relevant assessments in line with the Children's Act of 1989 when required.
  • Completion of Section 7 and 37 reports requested by Family Courts
  • Providing Section 17 support to families and children in need
  • Carrying out home visits for monitoring purposes/ to promote the welfare of and to safeguard the children
  • Liaising/ Working close with partnership agencies to support the families and meet the children/ young peoples needs
  • Attending court and giving evidence when required
  • Hybrid working and reimbursed parking charges.

For this position you will need hold a recognised social work qualification and be SWE registered. Furthermore, you will have at least two years post qualifying experience in statutory child care setting in order to support your ability for this role. Court work experience is also a requirement.
