Social Care Worker
Location: Worcester
Salary: £18 umbrella an hour
Hours: 37 hours a week
Duration: 3 months initially
About the Role
Worcestershire County Council are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Care Worker to join their team in Worcester. As a Social Care Worker, you will be the first point of contact for individuals seeking health and wellbeing support. You will be responsible for responding to telephone calls and online referrals, providing a person-centred response to requests and effectively supporting individuals to live well and as independently as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice and signposting to local wellbeing services and resources
- Work in partnership with colleagues to deliver short term intervention in the Community
- Refer on to Social Work teams for appropriate Health & Social Care support
- Prevent or delay individuals from developing longer-term care and support needs by enabling them to be healthy for as long as possible, self-managing long-term conditions
Requirements
- Experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A compassionate and patient approach
- A positive attitude towards promoting independence and wellbeing
- An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
