Job Overview:
A UK-based multidisciplinary engineering consultancy located in Ashford is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to join their team. Specialising in steel structures, this role offers the opportunity to work on a range of projects across sectors such as telecoms, rail, utilities, highways, and radar. You will contribute to the design, analysis, and inspection of steel structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards, structural integrity, and cost efficiency. This position is ideal for someone looking to launch their career in structural engineering.

Responsibilities:
As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you will:

  • Assist in the design and analysis of steel structures using advanced industry software.
  • Work on diverse projects including commercial buildings, industrial structures, and infrastructure developments.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and senior engineers to ensure accurate designs and successful project delivery.
  • Conduct structural calculations, prepare technical drawings, and write reports to provide engineering solutions.
  • Participate in site visits to oversee steel construction, ensuring that the designs are followed safely and effectively.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience or coursework in steel structures is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with structural engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structures, Revit, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Basic understanding of steel material properties, fabrication, and construction processes.
  • Previous internship or project experience in structural engineering, particularly in steel structures, is preferred.
