Key responsibilities of the successful Finance Director:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the institution's objectives and long-term vision.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and provide regular financial forecasts to support decision-making and resource allocation.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, for presentation to the board of directors and senior management.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Manage cash flow effectively to support operational needs and strategic initiatives, optimising liquidity and maximising returns on investments.
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and procurement, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, identify areas for improvement, and drive performance optimisation.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including board members, auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Profile
The successful Finance Director will have:
- A Finance professional with experience at a senior level ideally with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent financial qualification.
- Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Experience in the education sector or nonprofit organisations is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute financial strategies that support organisational goals and drive growth.
