Finance Administrator Purchase Ledger

Are you a Accounts Assistant with a strong purchase ledger background, looking to join a company offering hybrid working and an enticing benefits package?

We have teamed up with a successful organisation in the legal industry, based in Southampton, who are looking for a Purchase Ledger Finance Assistant to join their team. This award-winning organisation provides room to progress within the role and offers great internal training programmes.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing payment requests promptly and accurately
  • Recording both outgoing and incoming payments in financial records
  • Contacting suppliers in relation to invoice and payment queries
  • Collaborating closely with partners and fee earners to ensure precise and timely documentation and reconciliation of client funds, in accordance with local regulatory standards
  • Managing aged ledger
  • Conducting daily cash reconciliations and generating reports for all relevant currency accounts and transactions
  • Performing supplier statement reconciliations and creditor control account reconciliations.
  • Maintaining filing and archive system.
  • Assisting with database administration and internal billing queries.
  • Reviewing monthly transactions in accordance with month end reporting.
  • Maintaining internal financial allocations between jurisdictions.
  • Managing unallocated cash, ensuring all cash is allocated in a timely and accurate manner

What you will need:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger / Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant / Finance Administrator
  • Working background in a cash operations or banking role
  • Good working knowledge of banking platforms, banking files and financial reconciliation processes
  • Good Excel skills
