Plant Manager or Site Manager

Location: Northumberland

Hours of work: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with some flexibility

Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience + company car benefit / allowance

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our clients well-established team in Plenmeller, UK. As Plant Manager you will be accountable for all aspects of site performance, working to an agreed budget, company policies and legislative requirements, as part of the long-term strategy for the business. For this role a daily presence on site is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the highest standards of health and safety are maintained at the site.

Lead the management team to ensure customer requirements are met and the financial performance expectations are achieved.

Ability to meet, greet and talk with customers, potential clients, unions and work councils.

Stakeholder management with various parties (internal and external).

Preparation of annual budget for the site, together with the site management team, reporting performance against this and actions identified to deal with any variances through the divisional reporting structures.

Oversee and develop plans to improve the site through innovation in areas such as new products, alternative materials, operational excellence and technical advances.

To maintain the successful culture and ethos at the site, which have enabled excellent employee relationships through approachable, positive and strong management.

Work with divisional management to define and implement the longer-term strategy for the site

Experience, attributes & skills sought:

We are looking for a highly experienced manager with previous exposure in a similar role of managing a multi-process manufacturing business at senior level. Comfortable with P&L responsibility; a strong and motivational leader who can maintain a positive and calm approach in managing a fast moving and complex business. A genuine 'all-rounder' and team player with a strong blend of financial, commercial, and operational skills which facilitates a balanced and objective approach to key decision making.

Ideally educated to degree level in management and/or have a relevant professional institute qualification, will have sound business acumen and excellent communication skills at all levels.
