As our Internal Communications Specialist, you'll be the heartbeat of our internal storytelling, crafting and delivering strategies across digital channels that not only inform, but also inspire and engage our incredible team. Positively influencing behaviours and engagement, resulting in improved organisational performance and colleague experience.
Taking a strategic business partnering approach with our IT and Health & Safety Teams, you'll be at the forefront of our transformation journey, turning our vision into vibrant, engaging narratives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Leaders: Collaborate with leaders to develop and implement engaging communications campaigns and activity that inform, inspire and engage colleagues.
  • Craft Compelling Content: Develop messages that turn employees into enthusiastic advocates for our corporate goals and monitor the effectiveness to make data-driven recommendations for improvements. Deciphering complex jargon and technical lingo, and translating it into clear and understandable language.
  • Create Opportunities: Coordinate communication content activity across all channels, design communication solutions and chair editorial meetings to find opportunities across Corporate Affairs.
  • Digital Dynamo: Work with the Product team to enhance our digital communication channels to ensure they are user-friendly and keep our team connected.
  • Be the Go-To Expert: Provide strategic advice on best practices, leveraging data insights and innovative approaches. Using data insight, explore and apply innovative ways to manage and tailor communication activity. Understand the pressures and issues facing the social housing sector, particularly changes to communications innovation, legislation and codes of practice and share this insight with colleagues.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in internal communications or a similar role.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and effective planning for overseeing communication delivery.
  • A collaborative spirit with the ability to partner with senior leaders, build relationships with a variety of stakeholders and the ability to effectively prioritise workloads to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms with strong knowledge of Microsoft products, including Viva (engage, amplify, connections, etc) and experience developing classic and modern SharePoint sites to optimise news and content. Familiarity with digital newsletter tools such as Poppulo.
  • Enjoys problem solving and finding creative communications solutions when a challenge arises.
  • Experience in designing engaging materials – video production and editing would be preferable, although not essential.
