Credit Controller

- Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
We are seeking a dedicated Credit Controller to join our finance team. This role is crucial for managing the debts of our business, ensuring the smooth running of accounts, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. The Credit Controller will work closely with the Company Accountant to deliver an accurate and efficient credit control service.
Day to Day of the role:
- Proactively manage and collect debts from company debtors.
- Evaluate new credit requests, including checking credit ratings and deciding on credit limits.
- Set up terms and conditions of credit and ensure timely payment of debts.
- Follow up on payments as needed and negotiate repayment plans.
- Respond to client enquiries and process account reconciliations.
- Check and post receipts to accounting systems and prepare statements.
- Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity and ensure adherence to company policies regarding debt recovery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller.
- Strong understanding of credit reporting and credit management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
