Assistant Management Accountant

Our client located in East Swindon is recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant. Working within the Accounts team the main function of this role is to support the preparation of Management Accounts, Balance Sheet reconciliations and all associated reporting.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Support the production of monthly management accounts, within the agreed monthly timetable, to include:

o Opening and closing of ledgers

o Set up / roll over files for month end.

o Posting of accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and reclassification journals

  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends or potential issues.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support the preparation of information as requested during the annual financial audit.
  • Prepare monthly reports, including analysis of sales, costs and WIP.
  • Support preparation of the board reporting pack
  • Updating of competitor analysis
  • Provide user support for ERP (Coins) queries.
  • Credit checks to support the business assessment of customer and supplier credit worthiness.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required.

The right candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Part-qualified or actively pursuing a professional accounting qualification e.g., CIMA, ACA, ACCA
  • Experience in a similar role would be preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

In return:

  • Salary up to £32K dependant on qualifications and experience gained.
  • 40 hour working week, flexible working hours between 7am and 7pm
  • Hybrid working available once trained.
  • 27 days annual leave + BH (3/4 days taken for Christmas & New Year)
