Are you an experienced administrator with exceptional organisational skills?

Do you want to play a key role in a team where your support will help to benefit the public good and make a real impact on millions of people and businesses in the UK?

It is a particularly an exciting time to join the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) as a Personal Assistant to the Executive Director of the newly created Data, Technology and Insight directorate.

About the CMA

We help people, businesses, and the UK economy by promoting competitive markets and tackling unfair behaviour. Our work is wide ranging, ambitious and often new and challenging.

What you will do

You will be responsible for providing proactive and comprehensive administrative support to the Chief Data, Technology and Insight Officer, as well as their senior leadership and teams.

You will assist with the management and prioritisation of their time and will work collaboratively with their Executive Assistant and other members of the team.

You will support the management of a complex and dynamic diary, monitor emails, make travel arrangements (including international travel) and make a wider contribution to the effective operation of the directorate.

You will work flexibly, exercising sound judgement in prioritising and collaborating with the operations team supporting administrative tasks across wide directorate as needed. You will help assist the senior leadership and their teams, to coordinate meetings and events, support project delivery, and produce internal communications.

What you will need

You will need strong organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to prioritise key actions, in addition to diary management skills with Microsoft Outlook or a similar personal information manager.

A self-starting and proactive approach is essential, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks, deliver against deadlines, and support senior leaders in a fast-paced environment.

The ability to work effectively and flexibly as part of a diverse team and without close supervision and be responsible for your own workload is essential. The ability to support others in the delivery of work to a high standard is equally important.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal along with experience in working in a team with strong relationship building skills will be advantageous too.
