Our client has an opening in their Commercial Property Team and are seeking a highly motivated individual to join them as a Trainee Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone working towards their RICS qualification and with a strong interest in pursuing a career in the commercial property sector.
Role Overview
As a Trainee Surveyor, you will assist senior surveyors in delivering a variety of professional services to clients, including agency, valuations, and property management. This role offers diverse responsibilities and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the commercial property field.
Key Responsibilities
- Agency Support: Assist the agency team in the acquisition and disposal of commercial properties. This includes preparing marketing materials, conducting inspections, and liaising with clients and professionals.
- Valuations: Help in the valuation of commercial properties, including offices, retail spaces, and industrial units, for leasing, sale, purchase, and secured lending.
- Data Maintenance: Obtain comparable evidence and maintain the property database.
- Inspections and Surveys: Conduct inspections and surveys of commercial properties to assess their condition, value, and potential for development or change of use.
- Client Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations for clients, providing clear and concise information and recommendations.
- Legislation and Trends: Stay informed about changes in legislation, regulations, and market trends affecting the commercial property sector.
Key Skills and Requirements
- Qualifications: Working towards RICS qualification with a strong understanding of commercial property matters.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to clients and colleagues.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and find practical solutions.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using relevant software, such as Microsoft Office and property valuation tools.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to visit properties and meet with clients as required. You will need a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
