Our client is a leading public sector institution based in the heart of Edinburgh, committed to delivering exceptional services and value to their community. They are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Procurement to join the team and drive the procurement strategy forward.
Head of Procurement - Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Manage: Oversee the procurement department, providing strong leadership and support to your team
- Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded
- Negotiation: Utilise superior negotiation skills to secure the best value for goods and services
Procurement strategy and planning:
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with Scottish procurement legislation
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement effective procurement strategies that align with our institution's goals and objectives
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Head of Procurement – Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in a senior procurement role, ideally within the public sector
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Scottish procurement legislation
- Qualifications: Degree level education, with CIPS or MCIPS qualification being highly desirable
- Skills: Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
