About The Client

Our client is a leading public sector institution based in the heart of Edinburgh, committed to delivering exceptional services and value to their community. They are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Procurement to join the team and drive the procurement strategy forward.

Head of Procurement - Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Manage: Oversee the procurement department, providing strong leadership and support to your team
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded
  • Negotiation: Utilise superior negotiation skills to secure the best value for goods and services

Procurement strategy and planning:

  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with Scottish procurement legislation
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement effective procurement strategies that align with our institution's goals and objectives
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Head of Procurement – Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a senior procurement role, ideally within the public sector
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Scottish procurement legislation
  • Qualifications: Degree level education, with CIPS or MCIPS qualification being highly desirable
  • Skills: Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
