Semi Senior Accountant

Our client says: We are a dynamic accountancy practice, located near the vibrant coastal town of Southend-on-Sea, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Semi-Senior Accountant to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Management:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of accounting services.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a primary point of contact for client queries and issues.

  • Accounts Preparation:

  • Prepare statutory accounts for a variety of business structures including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

  • Handle bookkeeping tasks and maintain accurate financial records for clients.

  • Taxation:

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns.

  • Assist in tax planning and advisory services for clients.

  • Auditing:

  • Assist in planning and conducting audits, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

  • Prepare audit reports and provide recommendations for improvements.

  • Financial Reporting:

  • Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts for clients.

  • Analyze financial statements and reports to provide insights and recommendations.

  • Software Utilization:

  • Utilize various accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) for bookkeeping and accounts preparation.

  • Stay updated with the latest accounting software advancements and implement them effectively.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices within the firm.

  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accountancy practice environment.
  • Part-qualified or qualified ACCA/ACA (or equivalent).
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero is highly desirable).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive approach to work and willingness to take on new challenges.
