Data Collection Officer

Salary: £28,000 per annum

What you will be doing?
The primary purpose of the role is to collect scientific data for large scale research projects.
Participant Recruitment:

Manage Potential Participants:
-
Contact participants from Forward to gauge interest.

Provide study and participation details.

Use Forward Trust's contacts to identify potential participants.
-
Schedule and record interviews at sites or online, noting contact details.

Coordinate with Facilitators:
-
Obtain a list of potential interviewees and contact them.

Location Coordination:
-
Be available at designated locations (hybrid or remote work possible).
Conducting Study Interviews:

Prepare Materials:
-
Arrange necessary equipment and supplies.

Distribute and track participant vouchers.

Organize digital documents for easy access.

Conduct Interviews:

Facilitate interviews per established guidelines.
Post-Interview Management:

Document and Data Security:
-
Save and organize all documents.

Conduct regular data audits for compliance.
-
Send recordings for transcription and track status.

Review transcriptions for accuracy and GDPR compliance.

Educational Background:

Current Research Masters or PhD candidate in Research, Social Sciences, or Public Health.

Skills and Experience:

Proven experience in conducting qualitative research.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including interviewing abilities.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Administrative experience including scheduling and conducting interviews.

Proficiency in using digital tools and devices for data collection.

Desirable:

Knowledge:

Engagement with behavioural theories and public health research.

Understanding of issues related to substance misuse and homelessness.
Experience:
- Prior experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Familiarity with ethical considerations and safeguarding procedures in research.
- Project specific:
- Willingness to travel between Hull and Dover and potentially other services as needed (expenses covered).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical research practices.
