Bank Teaching Assistant

Working hours between Mon to Fri, 08.30 - 15.45. This is an ad hoc role, to support in staff absence periods - whether you can commit to 2 days or 5 days per week - we want to hear from you! This could be an opportunity, to establish yourself within the school and secure a permanent contract with them.

Day to day of the role:

  • Work closely with students who special educational needs, providing support and guidance tailored to their individual challenges.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and mental well-being within the school environment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including teachers, therapists, and external agencies to create holistic support plans for students.
  • Engage with students in both one-to-one and group settings, fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students, adapting approaches as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in special education and support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a role supporting individuals with complex needs, whether in an educational setting or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with and inspire students.
  • Resilience and adaptability to work effectively in challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive and creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related discipline are desirable.
