Environmental and Compliance Manager

A well-established family owned business based in Cannock with some very exciting and ambitious growth plans are recruiting an experienced Environmental and Compliance Manager to join their friendly team

The mission for this role is to ensure that the business remains compliant with all relevant legal and industry standards. You will report to the Operations Director.

The essence of your job lies in the following key responsibilities. These are the main things you will need to excel at to ensure this role is a success.

Duties

  • Management of all company insurance: building, stock/product, marine, fleet, public liability, employer's liability
  • Maintenance of industry accreditations including ISO9001/ISO14001, FSC, BRC, Ecovardis and any further accreditations
  • Keep up to date with new and existing Environmental & Compliance related legislation, rules, and company standards, including fire prevention, site inspections etc
  • Ensure company policies are up-to-date and relevant
  • Maintenance of staff training matrix
  • Keep the company's Terms and Conditions in line with the vision (sales and purchase)
  • Supporting the company mission to become carbon neutral
  • Work with H&S department to ensure a safe place of work
  • Member of HACCP Team and Product Recall Team
  • Set and manage your team budget.
  • Lead and drive the continual improvement process to improve effectiveness of the team and the business overall.
  • Manage crises as they arise and follow up with root cause analysis and issue resolution to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Undertake any additional reasonable duties as requested from time to time.

Requirements

  • Understanding of Laws and Regulations such as ISO 9001/ ISO 14001 etc
  • Ability to keep up with changes in laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Ability to scrutinize processes and documents to ensure no details are overlooked that could result in non-compliance.
  • Ability to explain complex regulations and compliance requirements in simple terms to different stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify the root causes of compliance issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong ethical principles to guide decision-making and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts that arise from compliance issues.

Benefits

Hours- Monday- Friday 7.30am-4.30pm or 8am- 5pm with some flexibility
Salary- £55,000- £60,000
