Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust are currently looking for a determined and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join their Maternity Services at QMC, City and Community If you are looking to expand your NHS experience and develop your skillset within a supportive team - then we would like to hear from you!

Within this role, you will beproviding specialist psychological assessments to make complex diagnoses. You will conduct interventions with clients and then formulate and implement psychological treatment plans. As well as this, you will offer consultation and specialist psychological input to the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to contribute to client's formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.

The post holder will be based at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham but may sometimes be assigned duties at the City Hospital Campus, Nottingham or elsewhere.

  • To be responsive to staff needs using high levels of expertise to support teams following traumatic events when individuals or teams may be highly distressed.
  • To plan and prioritise caseload and coordinate complex clinical activities.
  • To work effectively with clients from a diverse range of cultural/ethnic backgrounds, understanding and respecting the impact of difference and diversity upon their lives and difficulties.
  • To provide highly specialised expert opinion, consultation and supervision to clinical staff working at NUH.
  • To provide general advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management
  • To provide assessment and intervention that is focussed, targeted, and session-limited in order to achieve optimal benefit given limited resources.
  • To demonstrate flexibility, confidence, and initiative in working successfully in an acute hospital environment including managing basic challenges such as negotiating travel arrangements to and from the workplace, securing an appropriate clinical base in which therapeutic activity can be delivered and liaising with disparate services and specialism
  • In common with all qualified Clinical Psychologists, the post holder will be able to access clinical supervision in accordance with national good practice guideline.
  • Providing Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis as practiced within the field of clinical psychology.

What you'll need:

  • Degree in Psychology & Post-Graduate Doctorate
  • HCPC Registration
  • Experience of working as a qualified specialist clinical psychologist for a minimum of one year
  • Relevant specialist training in the skills required for the specialty area
