Salary - £15.15 per hour PAYE // £18.68 per hour Ltd Umbrella

Location - BN1

Part time role - 22.5 hours per week (Flexible on completion of this)

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Human resources team at a Brighton based University that are currently seeking a Payroll Coordinator. This role is ideal for individuals that thrive in a computer-based environment, possess a good level of numeracy and literacy, and can operate efficiently within a team.

Responsibilities - As a Payroll Coordinator, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Administering payroll input and administration for designated Schools/Units.
  • Processing casual Fees payroll input.
  • Handling administration of starters, leavers, and changes to pay for existing staff.
  • Calculating and administering temporary alterations to pay.
  • Carrying out month-end procedures, including running reports and raising cheques for monthly deductions.
  • Liaising with all levels of staff and advising them on matters of tax and National Insurance.
  • Dealing with correspondence with the tax office, Benefits Agency, etc.

Skills & Qualifications The successful candidate will have:

  • The ability to communicate courteously and clearly both orally and in writing.
  • The ability to manage own time and organise own workload.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in work and record keeping.
  • Experience in computer use for data entry, calculation, and the production of basic information.
  • Payroll experience is desired but not essential, as the role will predominantly support the administrative aspects of the Payroll remit.
