Hatched Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for a Enabling Independence Officer in the Sutton area. 3 - 6 months contract.

Job Purpose:

  • To contribute to development and implementation of an Occupational Therapy Equipment/Minor Adaptations Trusted Assessor Framework in South West London, to enable Trusted Assessors to develop their skills and experience.
  • To work collaboratively with the Lead Occupational Therapist - Trusted Assessor Delivery, and Partners across South West London (SWL) to implement the framework and provide peer support to Trusted Assessors, assisting to retain staff and develop the Trusted Assessor workforce.
  • Trusted Assessors (Enabling Independence Officers or equivalent Trusted Assessor roles with different titles in South West London) maximise an individual's potential independence by undertaking assessment, recommendations, rehabilitation techniques, equipment, adaptations, support planning and review for vulnerable and disabled people in the community, within the legislative framework, policies and guidance for services.
  • The post holder will have excellent knowledge of the equipment and adaptations prescribed by Trusted Assessors in Health & Social Care. They will work well as part of a team, and be able to problem solve and promote authentic engagement with Trusted Assessors.
  • The post holder will work with partner agencies as applicable, ensuring that all duties and responsibilities are carried out to professional standards in accordance with the Council's policies, procedures and legislative framework. The post holder will be expected to maintain a working knowledge of legislation, regulations, guidance related to adults social services.

Knowledge and experience

? NVQ level 3 or demonstrate relevant experience of working with vulnerable people/families/carers.

? Trusted Assessor accreditation at minimum level 3.

? Knowledge of up-to-date techniques and equipment available to meet the needs of people with disabilities and carers.

? Knowledge of legislation relevant to statutory and non-statutory organisations in the field of disability and of current issues affecting the provision of Health and Community Care Services. ·

? Knowledge of a wide range of disabilities and assessment systems.

? Knowledge of assessment and prescription of minor adaptations.

? Knowledge of budgeting and financial processes.

? Knowledge of psychological, physical, spiritual, social care in health, illness, trauma and disability.
