Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and documenting interior payload system requirements for large aircraft modifications
- Reporting to the Interiors Engineering Manager and collaborating with the engineering team to identify and provide solutions for project requirements
- Using CAD to design modifications for aircraft cabin systems such as Layout of Passenger Accommodation (LOPA), Passenger Service Units (PSU), emergency equipment, galleys, monuments, and lavatories
- Modifying aircraft environmental systems including air conditioning, electrical, water, and waste systems
- Introducing new aircraft paint schemes and emergency marking systems
- Producing substantiation documents to demonstrate compliance with regulatory and operational requirements, including flammability documentation, design reports, ground test plans, and system safety analysis
- Compiling engineering documentation and instructions for continued airworthiness, including service bulletins and aircraft/component manual supplements
- Attending meetings, conducting aircraft surveys, and providing on-site installation support both in the UK and internationally
- Working closely with customers, vendors, MROs, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to deliver engineering solutions on time and within budget
Job Requirements:
- Experience in aircraft interior design
- Proficiency with Part 21 and knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Strong CAD skills for developing engineering design solutions
- Ability to produce detailed engineering substantiation documents
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders
- A proactive approach to identifying and solving engineering challenges
