Due to winning many new contracts, a well-established Landscaping & Design company is looking for a Building Estimator to start with immediate effect. They are embracing a growth period and currently have a turnover of £7 million and have an excellent 3-year plan where they will achieve £17 million.
They have built a reputation across the South of England for over 35 years providing professional soft and hard landscaping within the House building and Commercial construction sectors. They are renown for responsiveness, reliability, and high quality workmanship reinforced with health, safety, and quality accreditations.
They build strong relationships with their clients and continually invest in training, systems and accreditations to maximise their effectiveness. They hold Safe Contractor, SMAS, CHAS and Constructionline Gold accreditations and are certified ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. They specialise in Show Homes, Plot Landscaping, Open Space areas, Commercial Landscaping, Play Areas, Ground Maintenance and Specialist Works.
You will need to be highly numerate, IT literate, organised and motivated, with a proven ability to drive out accurate costings and timely responses on tenders. It is a fast-paced role which needs both focus and holistic thinking.
What you'll do as Building Estimator:
- Prepare prime cost estimates
- Compare subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Complete tenders at the settlement stage
- Advise on risk, qualification, and margin
- Negotiate after the tender stage
- Provide estimating support for pre-bid submissions and pre-qualification documents
- Establish a forecast of net prime cost, preliminary costing, and cost planning
We're looking for a Building Estimator with:
- An understanding of Contracts and project risk management
- Good time management and use to meeting tender deadlines
- Good communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Also Previous Landscaping Estimating is desirable but other related industries e.g manufacturing or construction will suffice
