Class Teacher & Science Leader

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an excellent teacher to join the inspirational team at a primary school based in BD2. They are looking to appoint a highly effective, creative and nurturing classroom teacher, who is also able to lead the development of Science across the school from September 2024. This role is initially temporary until January 2025 but has the opportunity to become permanent for the right teacher.

The school is a large three-form entry primary school, close to Bradford City Centre. They serve a wonderful, diverse community and our parents, governors and staff are committed to putting our children at the heart of everything that we do. Their large, modern, building is set in extensive grounds, surrounded by varied outdoor play areas and encompassing our own Forest School and allotments, where children thrive in learning outdoors. They have excellent facilities both indoors and out, including a Cookery Room, Bicycle Library, Language Bridge (for pupils who are new to English), Nurture Room and two specialist classrooms for children with complex additional needs.

The school are committed to embedding local heritage into the curriculum, ensuring young people develop a sense of place, a connection to where they live, and an understanding of the significance of people and places in local, national and world history. They have our own Speech and Language Therapist and teach Oracy lessons throughout school. We aim for our pupils to develop all the tools that they need to be confident communicators in life.

They are looking for a teacher who :

  • Has proven experience of excellent classroom practice
  • Can provide a stimulating climate for learning
  • Be committed to the safeguarding and well-being of all children
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships
  • Has a passion for Science and would be able to inspire and lead others to feel confident in delivering high quality teaching and support for pupils so that all children achieve their full potential
  • Is an excellent communicator who can demonstrate their ability to lead and support others in their practice.
